Look how beautifully clear that water looks! Lake Wanaka is a great recreation lake… fresh water, smooth pebbles and considerate boat users.
The view in the background shows Treble Cone (mountain and ski field) reaching to the skies. This particular ski field is steeper than those in the surrounding area (there are 4 fields within an hour driving from Wanaka) and boasts some spectacular views (but then that seems to happen everywhere in New Zealand).
